fSekrit 1.2
Publisher's Description:
fSekrit - fSekrit is a small application for keeping encrypted notes. The real advantage of fSekrit is that notes are truly self-contained; the editor program and your note are merged together into a tiny self-contained program file, removing the need to install a special application to view your data. This makes fSekrit ideal for keeping encrypted notes on, for example, USB flash drives. Another advantage of using fSekrit is that your un-encrypted data is never stored on your harddisk. With a traditional encryption utility you would have to decrypt your file to disk, view or edit it, and then re-encrypt it, and unless you use secure file wiping tools, it would be a trivial matter for someone to to retrieve your un-encrypted data, even though you have deleted it. This can't be done with fSekrit, though, since it never stores your un-encrypted data on disk. fSekrit uses very strong encryption (256-bit AES/Rijndael in CBC mode) to ensure that your data is never at risk. Self contained fSekrit notefiles are tiny! Only 40k plus the size of your text.

Nice small program
I like this program, although it seems that it could have some buttons, instead of just menes, and automatically save and encrypt on exit instead of just prompting you , or that could have been an option. over all though a good program, just needs a few more options....

Have found it very good for storing online info.

Great tool that simply works
Great tool for keeping a myriad of cryptic passwords all in one place without fear of being compromised. In trying to think of various other ways to use fSekrit, I got to thinking about command line usage. Can a note be added or at the very least extracted using the command line? That is the only feature that is missing but seems like it would be useful.
Author's Response:
Hm, how would you want the command-line features to work? "Add" a note as in adding text to an existing note, or creating a new encrypted .exe note from a .txt file? And do you want to specify the pass-phrase on commandline as well, or is the usual popup-prompt good enough?
I wish you'd come over to the DonationCoder forums, I monitor those more actively :)
